Potential Assessment of Selenium for Improving Nitrogen Metabolism, Yield and Nitrogen Use Efficiency in Wheat

In wheat production, improving resource utilization and grain yield is the goal researcher have been pursuing. This study aimed to investigate if a regulated nitrogen (N) selenium (Se) fertilizer management could increase N use efficiency (NUE). reports effects of three application levels (N0: 0 kg ha−1, N1: 180 N2: 270 ha−1) combination Se (Se0: g Se1: 450 Se2: 900 on metabolism, NUE in 2020–2021. Compared with N0, increased by 44.76% N1 54.32% N2, activity N-metabolizing enzymes 25.15~35.03% 32.01~51.27% N2. N1, apparent recovery N, agronomic partial factor productivity applied decreased 15.71%, 28.00% 28.93% respectively. Se0, 1000-grain weight 3.93% Se1 4.87% Se2, nitrogen-metabolizing 4.23~4.91% 6.65~8.46% Se2. We conclude that improve weigh metabolism has potential NUE.
